Cancellation by the renter

Yes, the renter can also cancel their booking at any time.

However, depending on the cancellation option you selected for your listing, the renter will be refunded more or less, and you will be compensated accordingly.

You can choose the cancellation policy from your account, in your listing settings:

Flexible

The renter can cancel up to the day before departure. They will then be refunded the rental amount, excluding BikUp service fees.

Zen

The renter can cancel 3 days or more before the start of the rental; you will be compensated with 30% of the amount you would have received.
If the renter cancels less than 3 days before the start of the rental, no refund will be possible.

Moderate

The renter can cancel 10 days or more before the start of the rental; you will be compensated with 30% of the amount you would have received.
If the renter cancels less than 10 days before the start of the rental, no refund will be possible.

Strict

In case of cancellation by the renter, no refund will be possible. You will therefore receive 100% of the rental amount.

The “Zen” policy is the default option on BikUp.

In all cases, if the renter cancels more than 30 days before departure, they will be fully refunded (excluding service fees).

Cancellation on your part

You can cancel a booking at any time. As a courtesy, we recommend informing the renter as early as possible.
To cancel a booking, log in to your profile, then click on Bookings. Select the booking to cancel and click the Cancel button. The renter will then be fully refunded.

Warning: if you cancel a booking on the day of departure, you may be subject to:
  • a financial penalty from BikUp for the inconvenience caused,
  • and/or a suspension of your account.
