I received a booking request — what should I do?

You can find all booking requests by logging into your profile and clicking on Bookings.
By opening a booking, you can:

  • accept it,
  • decline it,
  • chat with the renter.
Warning: once you receive a booking request, you have 48 hours to respond. After that, the booking will be automatically canceled.
We always send you an email notification when you receive a new booking request. Make sure to keep an eye on your inbox (and don’t forget to check your spam folder!).

What happens next? How does the renter’s payment work?

Once you accept the booking request, the bike is reserved. The renter then has 72 hours to pay for the rental.
After this period, the booking is canceled and the bike becomes available again for other users.

The renter has paid — what’s next?

You have confirmed the bike’s availability and the renter has paid. All that’s left is to coordinate with them to set the meeting place and time, and agree on any accessories you may provide.

The renter’s contact details appear on the booking once payment is completed. To ensure secure and traceable communication, always use BikUp’s messaging system.

Mission accomplished: the rental is complete! ✨

Once the rental ends, it is automatically closed. Four days after the end of the rental, the money will be available in your BikUp wallet.
You can then request a transfer to your bank account here.

You and the renter will also receive an email inviting you to leave a review of the rental. You have 5 days to complete the review form.

What if I accepted a booking but I’m no longer available?

The first thing to do is to inform the renter as early as possible.
Then, you can cancel the booking directly from the booking page. The renter will be fully refunded.

Warning: if you cancel a booking on the day of departure, you may be subject to:
  • a financial penalty from BikUp for the inconvenience caused,
  • and/or a suspension of your account.

Reasons why a booking may be canceled by the administrator

Bookings are canceled if:

  • the owner does not respond to the booking request within 48 hours of the request,
  • the renter does not pay for the booking within 72 hours after the request is accepted,
  • the rental has started even though it was not paid.
