Whether you are a renter or a bike owner, everything is designed to make your rental run smoothly! At every step, you will be informed about the status of your rental until it ends. Our goal: your enjoyment. Because a good example is worth more than a thousand explanations, below we tell you the story of Camille and Andrea...
You can cancel a booking at any time. As a courtesy, it’s best to inform the owner as early as possible.
To cancel your booking, log in to your profile and click on Trips. Then select the booking you want to cancel and click the Cancel button. Refund rules depend on the cancellation policy chosen by the owner for the listing (Flexible, Zen, Moderate, or Strict).
Flexible
You can cancel up to the day before departure. You will then be refunded the rental amount, excluding BikUp service fees.
Zen
If you cancel 3 days or more before the start of the rental, you will be refunded 70% of the rental amount, excluding service fees.
If you cancel less than 3 days before the start of the rental, no refund will be possible.
Moderate
If you cancel 10 days or more before the start of the rental, you will be refunded 70% of the rental amount, excluding service fees.
If you cancel less than 10 days before the start of the rental, no refund will be possible.
Strict
If you cancel, no refund will be possible, and the owner will receive 100% of the rental amount.
The “Zen” policy is the default option on BikUp.
The owner has 48 hours to accept or decline a booking. To increase your chances of getting a positive response, feel free to send several booking requests (up to a maximum of 5).
For a stress-free rental, we recommend signing a rental contract (we provide a contract and its rental contract clauses), asking for a copy of an ID document, and requesting a deposit (often via a non-cashed check). Example of a rental contract.
