Reviews are at the heart of trust on BikUp. They allow both cyclists and owners to rent and offer bikes with confidence. Here’s how they work.
What is a review on BikUp?
A BikUp review is feedback based on real experience, left after a rental actually completed through the platform.
It helps evaluate, in particular:
- the quality of the bike,
- the reliability of the owner,
- the overall rental experience (communication, punctuality, bike handover, etc.).
At the end of the rental, you can:
- give an overall rating,
- publish a public comment visible on the listing,
- leave a private message for the owner.
Who can leave a review?
Only users who have completed a confirmed and finished rental on BikUp can leave a review.
This ensures that all reviews come from real experiences, not fake accounts or external visitors.
When can a review be left?
A review can be left at the end of the rental period.
You will receive an email or notification inviting you to leave a review.
You then have 5 days to do so. After this period, it will no longer be possible to publish a review.
Can a review be edited or deleted?
A review can be edited for a short period after it is published.
Once this period has passed, it can no longer be freely edited.
Can owners also leave a review?
Yes. The system works both ways.
Owners can also leave:
- an overall rating,
- a public comment,
- a private message for the renter.
How is the overall rating calculated?
The overall rating corresponds to the average of the ratings given by renters, on a 5-star scale.
It is automatically recalculated each time a new review is published.
Does BikUp moderate reviews?
BikUp does not edit the content of reviews but reserves the right to remove or hide a review if it:
- contains abusive, defamatory, or discriminatory language,
- is unrelated to the rental,
- reveals personal data,
- or violates the platform’s terms of use.
The goal is to keep reviews useful, honest, and respectful.
Can reviews be bought or falsified?
No. Any attempt to buy, falsify, or manipulate reviews is strictly prohibited.
Such practices go against BikUp’s values and may result in sanctions on the account concerned.
What are reviews used for?
Reviews help:
- renters choose a bike with confidence,
- owners highlight the quality of their service,
- BikUp continuously improve the experience offered.
They directly contribute to a more reliable and transparent community.
