Reviews are at the heart of trust on BikUp. They allow renters and owners alike to rent or offer their bikes with peace of mind. Here's how they work.
What is a review on BikUp?
A BikUp review is feedback left after a rental actually carried out through the platform.
It lets you rate, in particular:
- the quality of the bike,
- the reliability of the owner,
- the overall course of the rental (communication, punctuality, bike handover, etc.).
At the end of the rental, you can:
- give an overall rating,
- publish a public comment visible on the listing,
- leave a private message for the owner.
Who can leave a review?
Only people who have completed a confirmed rental on BikUp can leave a review.
This guarantees that all reviews come from real experiences, not from fake accounts or outside visitors.
When can you leave a review?
The review can be left at the end of the rental period.
You'll then receive an email or notification inviting you to leave a review.
You have 5 days to do so. After this period, it will no longer be possible to publish a review.
Can a review be edited or deleted?
A review can be edited for a short time after it's published.
Once this period has passed, it can no longer be freely edited.
Can owners leave a review too?
Yes. The system works both ways.
Owners can also leave:
- an overall rating,
- a public comment,
- a private message for the renter.
How is the overall rating calculated?
The overall rating is the average of the ratings given by renters, on a 5-star scale.
It's automatically recalculated each time a new review is published.
Does BikUp moderate reviews?
BikUp does not change the content of reviews, but reserves the right to delete or hide a review if it:
- contains insulting, defamatory or discriminatory language,
- has nothing to do with the rental,
- reveals personal data,
- or breaches the platform's terms of use.
The goal is to keep reviews useful, honest and respectful.
Can reviews be bought or faked?
No. Any attempt to buy, fake or manipulate reviews is strictly forbidden.
These practices go against BikUp's values and may lead to sanctions on the account concerned.
What are reviews for?
Reviews allow:
- renters to choose a bike with confidence,
- owners to showcase the quality of their service,
- BikUp to continuously improve the experience it offers.
They directly contribute to a more reliable and transparent community.
