How do I cancel my booking?

You can cancel a booking at any time from your personal space.
As a courtesy, we recommend informing the owner as early as possible.

To cancel a booking:

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Click on your profile picture, then on Trips.
  3. Select the relevant booking.
  4. Click the Cancel button and confirm your choice.

What are the cancellation conditions for a rental?

When an owner publishes a listing on BikUp, they choose a cancellation policy from several options.

BikUp offers 4 cancellation policies, clearly displayed on each listing before booking.

Flexible

You can cancel up to the day before departure. You will then be refunded the rental amount, excluding BikUp service fees.

Zen

If you cancel 3 days or more before the start of the rental, you will be refunded 70% of the rental amount, excluding service fees.
If you cancel less than 3 days before the start of the rental, no refund will be possible.

Moderate

If you cancel 10 days or more before the start of the rental, you will be refunded 70% of the rental amount, excluding service fees.
If you cancel less than 10 days before the start of the rental, no refund will be possible.

Strict

In case of cancellation on your part, no refund will be possible, and the owner will receive 100% of the rental amount.

The “Zen” policy is the default option on BikUp.

In all cases, if you cancel more than 30 days before departure, you will be fully refunded (excluding service fees).

Cancellation by the renter

The amount of your refund depends on:

  • the cancellation policy chosen by the owner,
  • the time between the cancellation and the start of the rental.

The earlier the cancellation, the higher the refund.

Why does it work this way?

This system helps protect the owner, who reserved their bike for your rental and may have declined other requests for the same period.

Can the owner cancel my booking?

Yes, the owner can cancel a booking if they are ultimately unavailable.

In this case:

  • they are asked to inform you as quickly as possible,
  • you will be fully refunded, with no fees.
