Booking & payment

Bike trip

Can I get the owner’s contact details?

To ensure security and traceability of exchanges, all discussions must take place through BikUp’s messaging system.

Contact details (including the phone number) are shared with the owner only once the booking has been paid.

What should I do if the owner asks for payment on site even though I’ve already paid online?

Payments on BikUp are secure and must always be made through the platform.

If a user asks you for a direct payment (cash, bank transfer, etc.), do not proceed and report it immediately to
moderation@bikup.app.

I can’t complete the payment. What should I do?

This is most often related to an issue with your bank card (spending limit, authorization, authentication).

  • First, contact your bank for more information.
  • If the problem persists, contact our support team at support@bikup.app and describe the situation.

Feel free to include screenshots—this will help us assist you more quickly.

What payment methods can I use to pay for my rental?

On BikUp, you can pay using the following methods:

  • Credit or debit card
  • Link
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay

Why should I never send money outside the platform or share my contact details?

Your personal and financial data is sensitive. To protect it, never share it:

  • outside the BikUp platform,
  • through the internal messaging system.

If a user asks you for this type of information or for an external payment, refuse and report it immediately to
moderation@bikup.app.

I sent a request to the owner but they are not responding. What should I do?

The owner has 48 hours to accept or decline a booking request.

To maximize your chances of finding an available bike, you can send multiple booking requests in parallel (up to a maximum of 10).

Is it possible to rent a bike for half a day?

This feature is not yet available on BikUp.
Rentals are currently offered by the day or for multiple days.

Is a rental contract required?

When renting a bike, we encourage owners to:

  • provide a rental contract,
  • request a copy of your ID document,
  • request a deposit (most often in the form of a non-cashed check).

These elements help secure the rental for both parties.
